Boys Basketball
Columbia Central 82, Homer 32: CCHS guard Derek Sanders scored 22 points, Logan Fowler added 12 points, while David Munro contributed 11 points. Brock Butler scored 10 points and Kooper Manning added eight points for the Trojans.
Leslie 63, East Jackson 43: DeAngelo Alexander scored 13 points for East Jackson. Leslie (2-2) was led by Conner Marciniak with 16 points and Henry Bradford scoring 14 points.
Hanover-Horton 52, Vandercook Lake 40: Luke Soper scored 27 points and grabbled 15 rebounds. Brodey Bailly scored 13 points for HHHS. Chris Jimenez scored 17 points for Vandercook Lake. “We played great, competitive basketball for 42 minutes,” Coach Cory Ray said. “Todd Atkins turned in a heck of a performance on the board as well as blocking shots and disrupting everything in the paint.”
Grass Lake 47, Napoleon 36: Jacob Collins scored 18 points and Brayden Lape added 16 points to lead the Warriors. The Pirates were led by Tyler Nall with 15 points and Brady McLain with 12 points.
Michigan Center 59, Manchester 32: The Cardinals jumped out to a 24-8 lead in the first quarter. Tre Collins scored 17 points and Spencer Berkeypile added 12 points for Michigan Center.
Northwest 61, Western 56: Northwest High School earned its first victory of the season with the home win.

Freeland 5, Jackson United 3: Malakai Gallant, Parker Gough, and Peyton Paquin scored goals in the contest for JU. Paquin tallied two assists and Jonah Hughes finished with 13 saves in net for Jackson at the Bay City Showcase Tournament.
Gymnastics
JAG at Fowlerville: Jackson Area Gymnastics finished fifth with a team score of 130.775. Claire Kalahar finished sixth on the vault and fifth on the beam for JAG.
Swimming
Jackson 99, Monroe 85: Bryce Behnke won the 50-yard freestyle (24.76), Anthony Kulka took first in the 100-yard butterfly in a personal best (1:02), and Tyler Gilbert won the 100-yard freestyle in a personal best time (56.44) on Thursday night

Livingston Christian 39, Jackson Christian 34: Rennie Huff finished with 18 points, six rebounds, and five steals for Jackson Christian.
Wrestling
Lumen Christi at Gull Lake: Lumen Christi finished 13th as a team. Wrestlers who finished in the top six were: Anthony Morin Castro was fourth at 113 pounds; James Hart finished sixth at 175 pounds; and Hayden Rhinehart placed fifth at 190 pounds for the Titans.
Sand Creek Invitational: Jackson won the event with 190 points, Concord was 11th with 20 points, and Vandercook Lake finished 13th with seven points. Top four finishers were: Logan Clay of Jackson finished third at 106 pounds; Eden Nguyen of Jackson was second at 113; Connor Sounders of Jackson finished third at 120 pounds; Nate Fritz of Concord placed third at 138 pounds; Zander Resor of Jackson was second at 144; Kannon Burton of Jackson was third at 150 pounds; Andrew Anderson of Jackson finished fourth at 157; LaQuintin Anthony of Jackson finished third at 165 pounds; Shea Haehnle of Jackson won the title at 190 pounds; Jayden Roy was second and teammate Tayshawn Smith-Grove was fourth at 215 pounds; and Curtis Winter of Jackson took the top spot at 285 pounds.
Fowlerville Invitational: Springport was fifth (107.5), Columbia Central ended up sixth (103.5), and East Jackson ninth (72) at the invitational. Top four finishers were: Mason Thurber of Springport won the title at 106; Shamus O’Hearon of Springport was third at 113 pounds; Dylan Byrd of East Jackson was fourth at 138; Hunter Czubachowski of Columbia Central won the title and Julius Farrell of East Jackson second at 144 pounds; Kaden Sizemore of Springport was third at 157; Daniel Dysert of Springport was third at 165; and Dylan Boone of Columbia Central finished third at 285.
Hanover-Horton at Jesse Snow Memorial: The Comets finished third scoring 121.5 points near Nashville, Mich. Top four finishers were: A.J. Lusby was second at 113 pounds; A.J. Fielder won the title at 132 pounds; Gavin Berkeypile won the championship at 150 pounds; Austyn Hocter won the title at 190 pounds; Wyatt Ashworth was fourth at 215A; and Reed Matthews was second at 285 pounds.
Grass Lake at Hartland Invitational: Grass Lake finished 14th overall with 59.5 points. Aiden Johnson was fifth at 106 pounds; Maxx Latchaw finished sixth at 113 pounds; Brandon Rohde placed fifth at 120 pounds; and Aiden Durham was third at 138 pounds.
Napoleon, Northwest at Brighton Invitational: Northwest finished seventh and Napoleon 10th. The Mounties defeated Portage Northern 35-29 in the seventh-place match and Napoleon lost to DeWitt 41-36 in the ninth-place match. Northwest defeated Napoleon 42-30 in the fourth match of the day. Logan Hartman (126), Carson Warner (165), Zack Bamm (190), and Brady Warner (215) earned pins for Napoleon in the match. Northwest pins were by Evan Beuerle (132), Jeffrey Miller (144), Juan Asta (157), and Aidyn Williams (285) against the Pirates. Northwest was 2-3 on the day at the Manning Vieau Team Duals.
Girls Tournament at Fowlerville: Josephine Russell of Springport was fourth at 105 pounds; teammate Kylee Grimmett won the title at 125 pounds; McKenna Worthing of East Jackson placed second at 135 pounds; and Bella Huston of Columbia Central won the title at 190 pounds.
Competitive Cheer
Concord Invitational: Springport finished third (537), Addison was fifth (532), and Concord placed seventh (511) in the Division 4 competition at Concord High School.
Michigan Center Invitational: Michigan Center won the Division 3 title (717) and Columbia Central placed third (600). Hanover-Horton was second in the Division 4 competition (701) and Grass Lake was fourth (574). Northwest placed fourth in the Divisions 1/2 competition (588).
Hockey
Thunder 4, Jackson United 2: Wyatt Boteler and Brennan Forward scored for Jackson United. Alex Chappell finished with 23 saves in net for JU.
University Liggett 5, Lumen Christi 1: The Titans fell at home Saturday against University Liggett.

Kellogg CC 67, Jackson College 58: The Jets played its best defensive half giving up only 25 points in the first 20 minutes of action. Jackson College will travel to Kalamazoo Valley Community College Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. contest.

Women’s Basketball
Jackson College 74, Kellogg Community College 61: KCC pulled within two points at 55-53 early in the fourth quarter, but Jackson pulled away with an 11-2 run. Four players scored in double figures as Michelle McGee scored 19 points, Emily Carbajal finished with 13 points, Zoie Bamm tallied 12 points, and Kiyla Brooks finished with 11 points for JC (9-2). Jackson will travel to Kalamazoo Valley CC Wednesday for a 5:30 tipoff.
