Six Jackson County cross country runners, including Isaiah Dinverno of Lumen Christi Catholic High School, earned all-state honors at the Michigan High School Athletic Association state finals Saturday at Michigan International Speedway by finishing in the top 30 of his/her division.

Division 3
Mason 59, Jackson 18: Jackson High School finishes the season with a 4-6 record. The Vikings started the season 4-0 before losing its last six contests of the season.
Division 4
Haslett 42, Western 21: Haslett defeated Western for the second time this season. The Panthers finish the season with a 6-4 overall record having made the MHSAA playoffs nine of the last 10 seasons. Reed Myers threw for 110 yards with a passing and rushing touchdown for Western.
Division 6
Lumen Christi 42, Dearborn Heights Robichaud 8: The Titans scored 35 points in the first 13 minutes of the contest scoring on three of its first five plays of the home contest. Kadale Williams scored two touchdowns and ran for 60 yards while playing only the first quarter for the Titans. Tommy King was the workhorse for LCCHS with 51 rushing yards and two scores. Sean Walicki blocked a punt for the Titans early in the contest leading to a score. The Titans will host Ida in the Division 6 district final more than likely next Friday at 7 p.m.

Division 7
Hudson 38, Napoleon 6: The Pirates scored on a 1-yard run in the first half but that is all they could muster against the Tigers on the road Friday. Hudson amassed 328 rushing yards in the contest. Napoleon finishes the season with a 6-4 overall record. Zavior Skog ran for 106 yards for the Pirates. Hudson hosts Union City in the district final in Division 7
Union City 42, Hanover-Horton 13: The Comets finish the season with an 8-2 record following the home loss to Union City. Hanover-Horton ran for less than 100 yards in the contest.

Leslie 49, Burton Atherton 7: Joel Cranmore had another big night with 243 passing yards and five touchdowns. Jayden Colby was his favorite target with 91 receiving yards and two scores. Braydin Johnson caught two touchdown passes and Jackson Fossitt added on score for the Blackhawks. Justin Hofbauer led the defense with 12 tackles and Tanner Craft added nine tackles and two sacks for Leslie (9-1). Leslie travels to University Liggett in the district final.
Division 8
Springport 38, Addison 14: Springport High School football player Gibson Overweg accounted for all five Springport TDs (four passing and a pick-six on defense). Jake Kregel, Gavin Lightner and Tucker Wiginton all scored for the Spartans as well. Addison quarterback Joshua Ray and Michael Trumble scored the two touchdowns as Trumble ran for 108 yards. Springport will host Reading in the district final at home.

Manchester 20, Petersburg-Summerfield 17: The Flying Dutchmen scored in the final minutes of the contest to pull out the victory. Jayden Johnson scored a pair of touchdowns including the game winner. Julian Waters also recovered a fumble for a touchdowns for the Flying Dutchmen. Johnson finished with 67 rushing yards for Manchester who travels to Riverview Gabriel Richard in the district final.

At Michigan International Speedway
Division 4 Boys: Concord finished 24th as a team with 501 points. Maddox Hutchinson finished 87th in 17:46, Paul Herendeen was 146th with a time of 18:32, and teammate Dustin Hamilton was 150th in 18:32. Diego BoCole of Jackson Prep placed 94th (17:47) and Dallas Swaenepoel of Vandercook Lake placed 178th in 18:56 as individual qualifiers.
Division 3 Boys: Lumen Christi finished fourth as a team with 246 points, Hanover-Horton was fifth scoring 270, and Columbia Central finished 23rd scoring 516. Isaiah Dinverno and Leo Swager earned all-state medals by finishing in the top 30. Dinverno was fourth overall in 15:41 and Swager placed 25th in a time of 16:10. Landen Boulis of Hanover-Horton finished 17th (15:57) to earn all-state honors. Teammate Cooper Flick finished 36th in 16:24. Columbia Central was led by freshman Clint Couchman who finished 78th in 16:55 and Wyatt Vowell who was 120th with a time of 17:16.

Division 4 Girls: Concord High School finished 24th as a team with 535 points. Haley Stimer finished 43rd overall with a time of 20:34. CHS junior Cieara Barrett was 92nd in 21:28 and teammate Mya Barrett placed 149th in 22:26.
Division 3 Girls: Lumen Christi finished ninth as a team with 272 points and Grass Lake was 23rd scoring 542 points at Michigan International Speedway Saturday. Samantha Schroeder earned all-state honors by placing eighth with a time of 18:06. Teammates Macy Fazekas was 54th (19:57) and Layla Lopez was 92nd (20:41) for the Titans. Grass Lake freshman Adalyn Jarchow as 114th (20:57) and Elise Bullock was 143rd in 21:20. The Warriors competed with two freshman and three sophomores in its top seven runners. Maisey Toteff of Hanover-Horton finished 49th (19:53) and teammate Brynlee Swihart placed 127th (21:11) in the individual competition.

Division 2 Boys: Western High School finished 20th as a team and had a pair of all-state runners Saturday at MIS. Edison Lopeman finished eighth overall in 15:23 and teammate Ryan Good placed 17th in 15:30 for the Panthers.

Division 2 Girls: Chloe Khon of Northwest placed 106th at the D-2 state final with a time of 20:08 at MIS.
Division 1 Girls: Grace Brown of Jackson finished 209th with a time of 20:34 at the Division 1 state finals at MIS Saturday.

Mt. Version 3, Spring Arbor 0: Isabelle Kirkendall finished with 11 kills and Kirstyn Throop created 17 digs for SAU.
Women’s Soccer
Jackson College 3, St. Clair 1: The Jets advance in the Region XII Tournament with the victory. Jillian Lester scored a pair of goals and Samantha Youmans added the other for JC. Serenity Wieszciecinski earned the win in goal for Jackson College (11-2). They continue regional soccer action tomorrow with a 3 p.m. contest against Kellogg or Schoolcraft.

Women’s Basketball
Jackson College 78, Alpena 44: The Jets outscored Alpena 25-5 in the second quarter to pull away during a tournament game at Bay College. Five players scored in double figures as Zoie Bamm scored 14 points, Kaylona Butler added 12 points, Kiyla Brooks and Jessica Bennett each scored 11 points, and Michelle McGee added 10 points for Jackson College (2-0). Jackson College travels to Triton College Friday for an 8:30 p.m. start in the Triton Tournament.
Spring Arbor 90, Indiana Columbus 57: Alana Nelson scored 21 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in the SAU win.
Men’s Basketball
Spring Arbor 86, Jackson College 79: The Jets fell on the road Saturday against the Spring Arbor reserves. The Jets open home play next Saturday as they host Siena Heights reserves at 1 p.m.
