The Michigan Rush Jackson 03/02 girls (u16/17) team claimed the Super Y League National Championship in Florida at IMG Academy on Tuesday, December 11th. The Rush took the field to do battle with the BYSC Corona United for the U17 Girls national title. The Michigan team came away with the win. A final tally of 3-0 in favor of the almost entirely local team.

On the big stage, Andrea Kowalski, Madison Wagner and Shelby Marshall all were able to score for the Rush. Kowalski, Marshall and Shelby Slusarski all added assists on the day.

Michigan Rush has been one of the top girls soccer programs in the state for years. The Jackson based team has been notable for that entire period.  Rush Jackson has advanced through the Michigan State Cup to the quarterfinals each of the past three years. It all came together for them on 11th in Florida.

15 of the 16 girls on the team were from Jackson or the surrounding area. Eight of them play for local high schools.

Alexis Jeffrey (Adrian High), Sydney Slusarski (Tecumseh High), Jessica Emmert (Chelsea High), Ellie Thallman (Northville High), Grace Townsend (Marshall High), Andrea Kowalski (Chelsea High), Shelby Marshall, Ashley Myall (Dansville High) and Rylie Spitler (Manchester High) make up the rest of the program’s roster.
