A powerful storm system will track northeastward through the Western Great Lakes Region today into tonight. A strong cold front associated with this system will push eastward through Lower Michigan tonight. An unseasonably mild airmass with showers and even a few thunderstorms will exist ahead of the front while a cold airmass will move in behind it. Lake effect snow showers will be on the increase as we go into the middle part of the week.

Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain showers until midday, then a chance of rain showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s. South winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight

Windy. Rain showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms. Lows in the upper 30s. South winds 20 to 25 mph becoming southwest overnight. Gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.

Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts to around 35 mph.
