Significantly cooler temperatures are expected today with highs running around 20 degrees cooler than yesterday. High pressure ridging behind the cold front should result with a fair amount of afternoon sunshine. Then a clipper system from central Canada will bring us the coldest air of the fall so far Friday. There will likely be some showers with the front during the early morning hours of Friday. High pressure following that frontal system will keep Southwest Michigan mostly clear Saturday and Sunday with slightly below normal temperatures.

Thursday:  Sunny. Highs around 70. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday Night:  Partly cloudy. A 40 percent chance of rain showers overnight. Lows around 50. West winds 5 to 10 mph.

Friday:  Mostly sunny. A 20 percent chance of rain showers until midday. Highs in the mid 60s. Northwest winds 5 to 15 mph.

Friday Night:  Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 40s.

Saturday:  Sunny. Highs in the mid 60s.
