The cold air will return today and really become established tonight and then through the weekend. At the same time as the cold air comes in from the north, a wave on the front to our south will spread precipitation northward across this area Thursday night. Periods of rain and thunderstorms are expected Friday into Sunday as waves move along the stalled frontal system. At this point most of the rain would be Friday into Saturday morning. More rain is possible Saturday night into Sunday but it now seems the front may be pushed far enough south so that rain will mostly be south of Michigan.
