(6-2-2026, 11:30PM): Early fireworks propelled Plymouth Christian to take down Lumen Christi in the Division 4 girls’ soccer Regional Semi-Finals at Lansing Christian HS on Tuesday.

This Regional Semi-Final had an electric start. Just two minutes and 17 seconds into the game after Tristin Johnson’s shot, Cora Botke found the back of the net from the left side of the penalty box to give the Titans the early 1-0 advantage.

Three minutes later, Abigail Brumwell scored off a corner kick assist knotting the game up at one for the Eagles. Five minutes later, the Eagles took the 2-1 lead shortly after another corner kick. Madison Hare set up Kaylee Ulin for the goal close quarters to find the bottom left corner.

The remainder of the half, Plymouth Christian had control of the ball, they rattled off 11 of the last 16 shots in the period. In that stretch, Peyton Irwin of Lumen Christi prevented two near goals on back to back corner kicks. The first shot, she booted the ball away from the goal just as it was about to cross the line, and the next before the Eagles were able to get a shot from the cross.

The second half had a slower start, but as time began to wind down and the Titans still down one, Elayna Losey had an epic diving save that led to a fight for the ball that lasted several seconds. Eventually, Lumen Christi was able to get the ball out and avoid another goal being scored. After a few late game penalty kicks, the Titans were forced to put up a contested shot from outside the penalty box as time expired to tie the game, but it was over the crossbar.

Plymouth Christian defeated Lumen Christi 2-1 in the regional semi for the second straight season. LC finishes the season at 7-10-2 overall with a fourth consecutive district title. Plymouth will face Schoolcraft, who defeated Manchester, in the Regional Final on Thursday.
