Spring Arbor’s Chris Bauman Named Sports Information Director of the Year

The Crossroads League announced on Tuesday that Chris Bauman from Spring Arbor University had been named its 2018-2019 Sports Information Director of the Year. The award is the first for Bauman, who recently completed his fifth year as the SID for the Cougars. Bauman and his department stayed busy throughout the 2018-2019 year, providing critical coverage of the success of multiple SAU teams and student-athletes on the national level. The Cougars won the NAIA Division II National Championship in men’s basketball, were NAIA National Tournament Semifinalists in women’s soccer and secured a pair of individual NAIA National Championships in track and field. Spring Arbor Soccer Pegged at No. 2

 JTV Sports | November 7th, 2018 Spring Arbor, Michigan-- The Spring Arbor University women’s soccer team moved up one spot to No. 2 in the final regular season edition of the NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, released by the national office Tuesday. Southeastern (Fla.) is the new No. 1. The program received 479 points and eight first place votes, while the Cougars trailed behind with 478 points and four first place votes. William Carey (Miss.), the previous top-ranked team, fell to No. 3 in the rankings with Vanguard (Calif.) and Martin Methodist (Tenn.) rounding out the top-five. Spring Arbor ended the regular season with a share of the Crossroads League title. They earned the No. 1-seed for the Crossroads League Tournament. The Cougars cruised through the first two rounds of the tournament last week, and now have their sights set on their ninth consecutive tournament title as they take on second-seeded, and No. 13 ranked, Grace College in the championship match. The Crossroads League Tournament Championship between Spring Arbor (16-1-1) and Grace (18-2-0) is set for Saturday, November 10th starting at 3pm from the Cougar Soccer Complex.
