The Jackson High School Athletic Department announced on Monday that Phillip Thompson will be hired as the new varsity Boys Basketball Coach for the Vikings.
Coach Phil is the head coach of a competitive 17U NY2LA circuit AAU team and a former assistant boys varsity coach at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
A former high school district championship player, he also trains elite athletes and coaches a 14U AAU team with O3 Sports in Saline, Michigan. Before his coaching career, Coach Phil built and led high-performing teams at NASA, the Department of Homeland Security, and the White House.
Thompson replaces the legendary long-time basketball coach and general manager Milton Barnes, who took over the program in 2019.
