(March 20, 2021 8:49 PM) Three area competitive cheer teams qualified for regional competitions next week by finishing in the top four at their respective district competition.

Vandercook Lake, Addison, and Concord high schools qualified for the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 4 regional.

Vandercook Lake finished second to Hudson at the Division 4 regional at home on Saturday. The Jayhawks finished with a score of 750.04. Addison finished third (706.08) and Concord was third (631.70) in the 11-team district.

Hudson won the competition with a three-round total of 765.40.

Napoleon placed fifth (629.8), Leslie was sixth (619.04), Lumen Christi finished ninth (556.02), Springport was 10th (518.5) and Homer placed 11th (514.86).

Vandercook Lake, Addison, and Concord advance to the Division 4 regional at Mason High School on Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m. The top four teams at regional competitions advance to the state meet at 3 p.m. on March 27, at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.

Michigan Center finished fifth in a tough Division 3 competition at Flat Rock High School. The Cardinals finished the three-round competition with 720.92. Hillsdale was sixth (676.78), Jonesville finished 10th (646.70), and Columbia Central placed 12th (643.72).

In Division 2 at New Boston Huron, Northwest was 11th (626.68) and Western finished 12th (607.40).
