(August 18, 2023 8:00 AM ET) After being named head coach just before last year, Antonio Parker has now had a full off-season program with his team.

“Do the work, no matter the conditions,” says coach, as his primary focus throughout camp and heading into 2023.

The players say Coach Parker is “hard on them and holds them to a very high standard”.

Jackson finished 6-5 last season and made an appearance in the district final, the first time they have made the district championship game since 2015.

The team motto they will follow for this year is: We Believe. They have a young team looking to prove themselves this year.

JHigh returns seven starters on offense and six on defense. Some of the returning starters include Cyron Stamper (RB/DB/WR), Kyson Cooper (DB/WR), linemen Hayden Best and Reese Deshazzor, and Korronnis Davis (WR/DB) who has an offer from Northwood University.

Newcomers expected to make an impact for the Vikings include running backs Kadair Sumner and Bryce Nastally, along with quarterbacks Connor Bush and Daniel Eubanks.

Coach (and the team) both are interested to see how they match up against Chelsea (lost 17-0 in 2022) and Tecumseh (lost in a shootout 69-46 in 2022) this season.

Jackson will use a spread offense led by Robert Dillon (7th season) and a 4-3 defense led by William Derr (2nd season).
