Wrestling Districts Start Wednesday for Local Teams

(February 6, 2024 10:21 AM ET) District wrestling starts Wednesday for numerous Jackson County wrestling teams.

Team districts start Wednesday for four of the six sites hosting events. Jackson County schools Western, Michigan Center, Vandercook Lake, and Springport will be hosting team wrestling districts this week. 

Individual districts start at several sites for local wrestlers. The top four wrestlers in each weight class advance to regionals. 

Here are the schedules for team and individual wrestling events involving Jackson County teams. 

Team District Wrestling

Division 1 at Holt, Wednesday, 5:30 p.m.

Grand Ledge vs. Holt

Jackson vs. Lansing Everett

Final at approximately 7 p.m. 

Division 2 at Western, Wednesday, 6 p.m.

Western vs. Charlotte

Northwest vs. Marshall

Final at approximately 7:30 p.m. 

Division 3 at Michigan Center, Wednesday, 6 p.m.

Napoleon vs. Columbia Central

Michigan Center vs. Grass Lake

Final at approximately 7:30 p.m. 

Division 4 at Vandercook Lake, Wednesday, 5:30 p.m.

Vandercook Lake vs. Hanover-Horton

Addison vs. VCL/HH winner 6:30 p.m. 

Division 4 at Leslie, Thursday, 5 p.m.

Dansville vs. Leslie

Lumen Christi vs. East Jackson

Final at approximately 6:30 p.m. 

Division 4 at Springport, Thursday, 5 p.m.

Homer vs. Concord

Springport vs. Jonesville

Final at approximately 6:30 p.m. 

Individual District Wrestling

Saturday, Feb. 10

Division 1 at Jackson (Middle School School), 9 a.m.

Schools participating: Battle Creek Central, Battle Creek Lakeview, Brighton, East Lansing, Grand Ledge, Hastings, Holt, Howell, Jackson, Kalamazoo Central, Kalamazoo Loy Norrix, Lansing Everett, Mattawan, Okemos, Portage Central, and Portage Northern. 

Division 2 at Stevensville Lakeshore, 9 a.m.

Schools participating: Battle Creek Harper Creek, Battle Creek Pennfield, Charlotte, Coldwater, Edwardsburg, Marshall, Niles, Northwest, Paw Paw, St. Joseph, Stevensville Lakeshore, Sturgis, Three Rivers, Vicksburg, and Western. 

Division 3 at Williamston, 9 a.m.

Schools participating: Adrian Madison, Blissfield, Clinton, Columbia Central, Eaton Rapids, Grass Lake, Hillsdale, Lansing Catholic, Michigan Center, Napoleon, Olivet, Potterville, Quincy, Stockbridge, and Williamston. 

Division 4 at Dansville, 9:30 a.m. 

School participating: Addison, Bath, Camden-Frontier, Dansville, East Jackson, Hanover-Horton, Hudson, Leslie, Lumen Christi, Morenci, Perry, Reading, and Vandercook Lake. 

Division 4 at Bronson, 9:30 a.m.

Schools participating: Athens, Bellevue, Bronson, Colon, Concord, Delton, Galesburg-Augusta, Homer, Jonesville, Mendon, Saranac, Springport, Tekonsha, Union City, and Vermontville Maple Valley.
