Jackson College is presenting the rock band 38 Special and their signature blast of Southern Rock at Potter Center for one show only, 7 p.m. Saturday, April 22. With sales in excess of 20 million, most associate the band 38 Special with their arena-rock pop smashes, “Hold On Loosely,” “Rockin’ Into the Night,” “Caught Up in You,” “Fantasy Girl” and more. They bring timeless hits that remain a staple at radio, immediately recognizable from the first opening chord, and paving the way to their present-day touring regimen. Guitarist/vocalist Don Barnes says it's all about maintaining that intensity in their live shows. “We never wanted to be one of those bands that had maybe gotten a little soft or complacent over the years. We're a team, and it's always been kind of an unspoken rule that we don’t slack up, we stack up. For the past 13 years, Dr. La Marca served at the University of Michigan Medical School as Chief of the Spine Section, Department of Neurosurgery. He is also a Professor of Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Biomedical Engineering at Michigan Medicine. “Dr. La Marca brings a statewide and regional reputation to the Henry Ford Allegiance Community, caring for our most complicated spinal cases. He receives complex cases from other spine surgeons, which enables us to expand the neurosurgery footprint well beyond our current service area.
