Jackson County Fair Presents Country Show

Sammy Kershaw (courtesy photo) The Jackson County Fair has announced the latest act scheduled for this summer’s entertainment lineup.  “Roots ‘n’ Boots Country Jam” starring Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin, and Mark Chestnutt will perform unplugged classic country at the Jackson County Fair on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017 at 7 p.m. Sammy Kershaw is a triple-platinum selling country artist from Kaplan, Louisiana.  He has released 10 studio albums, of which the 1993 album “Haunted Heart” spawned the Number One single “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful.”  With a formidable list of accomplishments behind him, Kershaw has expressed a strong desire to drive forward creating new music.  His latest offering, “The Blues Got Me,” was released in May 2016. Aaron Tippin is a country music legend hailing from Pensacola, Florida.  Since his initial signing with RCA Nashville in 1990, Tippin has charted over thirty singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs list.  He scored three Number Ones with “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong with the Radio” (1992), “That’s as Close as I’ll Get to Loving You” (1995), and “Kiss This” (2000).  Celebrating 25 years as a recording artist, the album “Aaron Tippin 25” was released in 2015 under his own label, Nippit Records. Cooler Temperatures and More Clouds

We will see more in the way of cloud cover today and Wednesday as we remain under the influence of an upper low in the northern Great Lakes. It will be cooler with highs mainly in the 60s today and Wednesday as well. A few showers and possibly an isolated thunderstorms can be expected this afternoon and evening. A dry period is expected from Wednesday evening into Thursday evening with high pressure located nearby. Showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast for Thursday night into Friday with a warm front lifting into the area. High temperatures warm back into the 70s for the end of the work week. Scattered Showers

We will see another day with highs in the 70s on Memorial Day with some scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Coverage on the precipitation will not be widespread. An upper low located over the northern Great Lakes will bring a fair amount of cloud cover for Tuesday into Wednesday with isolated to scattered showers at times both days. Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday will cool into the 60s, which is below normal for this time of year. Today:  Isolated showers between 11am and 2pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. An area of low pressure will move from Central Illinois tonight through southern portions of the Lower Peninsula on Sunday. Today and Tonight will be fairly dry with increasing chances for precipitation on Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will accompany the passage of the low on Sunday.
