The Grass Lake Farmers Market is open today at Grass Lake Community Events Pavilion on Brown Street next to the Car Wash in Downtown Grass Lake,.  Hours are 4pm to 7pm.     This is the last Farmers Market of the season! Yoga at Meijer Branch, Jackson District Library.  Every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and Friday at 8:30 am.  Join Yoga instructor Jeanette Lamphere and learn the basics of yoga.  Suggested donation $3. Intended for adults.  Yoga at the Concord Branch of the Jackson District Library.  Bring your mat and join us every Wednesday at 10 AM for yoga with Amy Reamer. This class is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5. Intended for adults. The Sandstone Congregational Church will be hosting a Swiss Steak Dinner on September 27th from 4-6 p.m. The menu will be Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, cole slaw, vegetables, rolls, beverage and dessert. The cost is $9.00. The Fellowship Center is on the lower level. Historic Masonic Temple to be New Home for Jackson School of the Arts

The Jackson City Council at its September 26th meeting unanimously approved a Letter of Agreement for a lease of the former Masonic Temple building at 145 West Cortland Street with the Jackson School of the Arts.  The building most recently served as showrooms for Vermeulen Furniture and was abandoned to the city last month, along with the adjoining structure at 135 West Cortland. At the same meeting, the Council approved roof repairs of the 135 West Cortland building and electrical work in the 145 West Cortland building (the Masonic Temple).  Electrical work will allow for interior floor, wall and ceiling removal and temporary receptacles and lighting. "We've run out of space but not out of inspiration," said Jackson School of the Arts Executive Director Kim Curtis. "Today, we are pleased to announce that we've identified a new home in downtown Jackson for our growing organization. Last Day of Heat Wave

One more day of record to near record highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. A cold front comes through the area early tonight with only scattered showers and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm.   This will lower our high temperatures on Wednesday nearly 25 degrees from todays values. This will only brings afternoon temperatures to near normal values. A second cold front on Friday brings in the truly cold air. Temperatures will by then be chilly.
