Drop In Tech Help.  Stop by the Carnegie Branch of the Jackson District Library today and every  Tuesday between 10 AM to 12 PM for help with your tech-related issues. March is Reading Month:  Construction Take Over at the Summit Branch, Jackson District Library.  Join us at the Summit Branch!  Need we say more? Construction toys and building galore! Come by the Summit Branch any time during March.  Intended for kids.  This activity/event is in celebration of March is Reading Month, with a spotlight on Mighty, Mighty Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker.  10 AM to 6 PM. Journey:  Watermedia Works by Joyce Grace.  Current exhibit at the Ella Sharp Museum.  Joyce Grace works in watermedia and colored pencil, creating colorful, whimsical works on paper. Her paintings have been shown in numerous national and regional exhibitions and are featured in Northlight Books “Splash Five,” American Artist Magazine and Rockport Press “Best of Watercolor: Painting Composition.” Joyce holds a Bachelor of Science in Design from the University of Michigan and is a signature member of Watercolor West.  Hours today:  10 AM to 5 PM. The Craft Agency Celebrates 95 Years

By Alexandra Cash, JTV In March of 1923, in a storefront on South Jackson Street in downtown Jackson, two Grass Lake brothers started a business that would serve the community for more than nine decades. Rafe and Merrill Craft were the founders of The Craft Agency Inc., which celebrates its 95th anniversary of business this year. Throughout the generations, numerous Craft men have provided the leadership for the agency to remain the strong entity that it is today. “It’s a tremendous privilege to carry on a tradition and to deal with the same businesses and families in many instances that we have dealt with for generations, literally.  We feel a strong sense of pride and obligation to this community,” said David Craft, Executive Vice President. Rafe and Merrill worked hard throughout the turbulent times of the Great Depression and World War II. In the 1950s Merrill’s two sons, Robert and James, joined the business as the second generation of leadership. Following the passing of Rafe in 1955, Merrill and his two sons continued to run the business for many years, expanding services and developing deeper relationships with clients. Expect mostly dry conditions with slightly cooler than normal temperatures through most of this week. There remains at least a chance a storm system coming out of the Central Plains late in the week could bring snow or mixed rain and snow to the area Saturday but at this points a more southern track seems likely to keep Southern Michigan dry into the following week. Jackson College Winter Film Series.  Explore filmmaking and enjoy movies from classic to contemporary with Jackson College’s 42nd Annual Winter Film Series.  The Winter Film Series is held annually at the Michigan Theatre in downtown Jackson as part of the College’s English 210 Films as Literature class. Community members are welcome. Films begin at 7:15 p.m. on Mondays; cost $5 per person.  Tonight the documentary:  “Whose Streets?” Jackson Public Schools is holding a JPS Bond 2018 Informational Meeting tonight from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Parkside Library, Middle School at Parkside.  All community invited. Yoga at the Meijer Branch, Jackson District Library every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Jeanette Lamphere teaches this yoga class. Suggested donation of $3. Intended for adults. Family Story Time at the Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.  Join us  every Monday at 6 PM for stories, crafts and more. Intended for ages 0-7 and their families.
