Jackson College Announces 2018-19 Entertainment Season Line-Up

Music, comedy, magic, dance and more are coming to the Potter Center at Jackson College this 2018-19 season.  Jackson College released the upcoming entertainment season lineup today.  Individual tickets go on sale Friday, June 29. Blue Oyster Cult with Mark Farner’s American Band, 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 Join in an incredible night of rock with Blue Öyster Cult and Mark Farner’s American Band. Pioneering the heavy metal style, genre-benders Blue Öyster Cult offer a taste of the wild side. Blue Öyster Cult is best known for their smash singles “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Burnin’ for You” and “Godzilla.” Legendary all-American front man and guitarist Mark Farner was the engine that pulled the original Grand Funk Railroad to the top, and today he’s a platinum recording artist 30 times over. Kidz Kamp.  Trinity Wesleyan Church presents Kidz Kamp today through Wednesday, an event where kids get to build their own summer camp experience! They get to pick three classes from a list of 18, including archery, art, driver's training (kid safe!), duct tape, and many more! Lyle Ambs Victory Makes it Two in a Row for Logan Anuszkiewicz

By Gary Kalahar JTV Sports Fun and pressure go hand in hand on the golf course for Logan Anuszkiewicz. He is showing he can handle pressure, and he sure is having fun these days. Anuszkiewicz didn’t need any time to prove that his first major local tournament victory was no fluke. Two weeks after winning the City Championship, Anuszkiewicz captured the 88th Lyle Ambs Memorial at Sharp Park Golf Course. He won four matches over two days, culminating Sunday with an impressive 4-and-3 triumph over Steve Maddalena in a championship match between the defending champion and the qualifying medalist. Anuszkiewicz became the first player in 40 years to follow up his first Jackson tournament victory with another in the next event. “It kind of took me by surprise,” Anuszkiewicz said about securing back-to-back tournament titles and taking a substantial lead on the Player of the Year Honor Roll points list. “It was such a quick turn-around, I didn’t have time to think about it.” He did notice a different feeling when he teed it up in this tournament, which he started a week earlier by firing a 65 to claim medalist honors. “I used to come out to these tournaments…

An area of low pressure centered near Detroit this morning will slowly pull away from the region. A few showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two could develop around the region today. A weak area of low pressure will track through central parts of Lower Michigan tonight...possibly leading to a round of showers.
