Elm Road Ramp to Westbound I-94 Closed for Construction
Photo of EB I-94 West of Elm Street Cutting Grade. MDOT Photo. The Michigan Department of Transportation has closed the Elm Road ramp to westbound I-94 for reconstruction. This work is part of the ongoing I-94 Corridor Project. The closure began Thursday evening and is expect to last through Sunday, July 28 at 11 AM. The posted detour will direct traffic to take northbound Elm Avenue (which becomes westbound Parnall Road) then southbound US-127 to access westbound I-94. In a newly released sketch of the proposed I-94 and Elm Road interchange layout, three roundabouts will be constructed. One each north and south of I-94 for ramp entrances and exits and one further north at the intersection of Rosehill, Elm and Seymour. Rosehill and Seymour roads will be moving slightly north as they meet Elm Road where a new roundabout will be constructed. Also at that interchange, Blake Road will move slightly north to form a 4 way intersection with Barrett Lane. Currently Blake Road meets Elm at Carmen Drive. Roundabouts are currently under construction at the Cooper Street I-94 interchange.
