Bright Walls Announces “Bright Spot”

(August 3, 2020 4:40 PM) The Bright Walls Mural Team today announced the latest “bright spot”, one of a series of events designed to fill the void caused by the postponement of this year’s festival to 2021. Bright Walls organizers will be bringing in three artists from around the United States the week of September 6-13.  They will be painting murals on buildings in town that allow for appropriate social distancing and Bright Walls will be inviting the community to  “swing by during or after their stay to enjoy the art!” Sponsors for this Bright Walls special are Henry Ford Allegiance Health, Consumers Energy and the Jackson Anchor Initiative.  The names of participating artists will be announced, one per week, beginning Thursday, August 6.   In the announcement today, the home cities of the artists were identified as Brooklyn NY, Denver CO and Portland OR. Bright Walls is still planning to host the Bright Walls Grand Finale in 2021 — complete with a full roster of artists from around the world and special community events. Currently, Bright Walls is partnering with the Jackson District Library in a community mural project.  Those interested can participate by creating art on a 6x6…

Like many, it gave the Bright Walls Team a lot to think about and consider. “We love Jackson and recognize our responsibility to ensure our neighbors and visitors from around the world are enjoying our community in a healthy and safe way,” said Jacque Austin, co-director of Bright Walls Mural Festival. With that thinking as a driving force in the team’s planning, they have chosen to postpone the Bright Walls Mural Festival’s grand finale until 2021. Leading up to 2021 festival finale, the team is working on creating a couple…
