Co-ed Green Division 2 CHAMPIONSHIP Duffy's  11  Mendoza Line Banditos  2.  Courtney Coons, Mark Bradley, Rick Linpack, Kalie Lamb, Charlie Knowles, and Tyler Stearns all had 3 hits to lead Duffy's to the championship.  Rob Whisler went 3 for 3 and Fadi Mustafa had an inside the park home run for Mendoza Line Banditos. Senior Division Orthopedic Rehab Specialist  12  Oak Tree Lounge  5.  Dave Keeder went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs and Denny Sandusky went 3 for 3 to lead Orthopedic Rehab.  John Sharrer went 3 for 3 with a double for Oak Tree. New Benchmark Set at Selby Classic

By Larry JacobsonJTV SportsTo write an article about Jackson High Senior Cierra Pryor – the athlete – doesn’t do her justice and, frankly, it’s not much of a challenge. Google her name and the list of athletic accomplishments is amazing. Watch her run around the track at the James R. Selby Track & Field Classic, where she is now an unprecedented four-time winner of the Outstanding Female Performer Award and it’s breathtaking. She is that fluid, that smooth, that impressive… Cierra doesn’t enter track meets – she dominates them. And when faced with an obstacle (or a hurdle to use a track term) she clears it. Cierra’s right foot is her ‘jump foot,’ meaning when she runs the long jump (in which she holds the state record) she goes airborne off that right foot. During the basketball season this winter she severely sprained the ligaments in her right ankle, making it difficult to get that dynamic lift. Undaunted, Cierra simply started jumping off her left foot. It’s a change that the untrained eye would never notice, but to an athlete it’s significant. JTV Sports begins its golf show, "The Right Approach" this weekend on the Locker Room.   Brian Roberts, General Manager at the Grande Golf Club joins host Andy Hawley on hole #10.  Take advantage of Spring Rates this week!   Play 18-holes, with a cart, for just $35 (M-Th) or $40 (F-Su). Indiana Top 60 Recruit Signs with SAU

Thomas Starks Jr., a 6’6 forward from Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran High School has signed with Spring Arbor University. An Indiana Top 60 Recruit, the versatile prep standout recently led the Cadets to the Class 3A State Championship Finals while compiling a 23-5 record. At the state finals, Thomas was recognized as the Arthur L. Trester Award for Mental Attitude recipient. This prestigious honor is given to the outstanding senior participant in each classification of the boys’ basketball state finals. The winners of this award, who were nominated by their principals, and coaches, must excel in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability. “Thomas is an extraordinary young man and an outstanding basketball player,” noted SAU Head Coach Ryan Cottingham. “He is an impact player and an impact person.” Starks joins 6’7 forward Jimmy Kodet (Williamston), 6’4 wing Isaac Love, and 5’10 point guard Caleb Hogans (North Farmington) as a member of the 2013 SAU recruiting class.  (Courtesy of Dave Mayotte, Spring Arbor University Sports Information Director)
