Events of Monday, May 25, 2026

Clarklake Memorial Day Parade. 8:30 AM.  The parade forms on North Lake Road, travels south on Hyde Road, turns around in the Doyle's parking lot, and returns north to end at the Clarklake Cemetery. During the return trip, a stop is made at the Clark Lake Cemetery to honor fallen military members with a prayer and Taps. Optimal viewing spots are along Hyde Road, particularly between the boat launch and the Township Park.  Hosted by Clarklake Lions Club. Jackson County Veterans Council Parade. 10 AM.  The Jackson County Veterans Council will host its annual procession.  Beginning at the intersection of Jackson Street and West Michigan Avenue in Downtown Jackson, the procession travels down Jackson Street, to Greenwood Avenue and ends at Mount Evergreen Cemetery. A ceremony including the laying of wreaths will take place afterwards at the cemetery.. Memorial Day Mass at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.  9 AM.  Memorial Day Mass is held every year on Memorial Day at 9 AM outside at the cemetery’s altar. Please bring your own lawn chair for seating. 4440 East South Street, Jackson. Spring Arbor Township 51st Annual Memorial Day Parade. Ride of Silence.  6:45 PM. The Cascades Cycling Club will host the Ride of Silence on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:45 pm starting from Horace Blackman Park in downtown Jackson. The ride will be an 8 mile “slow roll” through town to pay our respects to riders who have been injured or killed while cycling, and to remind motorists and city officials of our right to ride on public streets. This will be a police-escorted ride. Please join us for this is a free event. T-shirts commemorating the ride will be provided while supplies last. Plan to arrive at Horace Blackman Park in downtown Jackson by 6:45 pm as the ride will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Helmets are required. Jackson Audubon Society Birdathon.  The Jackson Audubon Society will be participating in the2026 Michigan Audubon Birdathon. This is a 24-hour marathon birding event held at Haehnle Sanctuary. The goal is to have the JAS team count as many species on the property in one day as possible. This fundraising event of Michigan Audubon will pass along a portion of the proceeds to Jackson Audubon Society. Online donations can be made for the JAS team.
