Lights, Camera, Auction:  Men Who Cook.  Tripp’s Auto Shop and AWARE present a fun filled night with family and friends to support AWARE, inc. and the mission to end domestic and sexual violence by providing shelter and service while promoting social change.  Local celebrity chefs will be serving tastings of their favorite recipes.  Live and silent auctions, live music, cash bar and raffles.  6 PM to 8:30 PM, Commonwealth Commerce Center.  $40 at the door.

Rummage & Bake Sale at Calvary United Methodist Church, 925 Backus Street ~ Jackson.  (Lansing Avenue Entrance).  Oct. 25th and 26th 9 AM – 6 PM, Sat Oct. 27th Bag Day $1.00 9 AM-11 AM, Sat October 27th 11 AM – Noon FREE.

Arts in Jackson Day.  The third annual Arts in Jackson Day is happening Thursday, October 25.  Artists, musicians, authors, crafters, makers, videographers and everyone from the creative sector are invited to share their work and businesses on social media throughout the day using the hashtag #artsinjackson. If you make anything – share it!  Not a maker or creative? You’re still encouraged to participate, simply share the work of your favorite local creative on your social media channels.  The purpose of Arts in Jackson Day is to raise awareness of work in our community and help expand the definition and perception of who is an artist.

Annual Fall Rummage and Bake Sale.  1st Congregational church in Jackson will be having a large rummage and bake sale on Oct 25 and 26 from 9 am until 5 pm. On Sat Oct. 27 we will have a $1 a bag sale from 9am until noon. Items available are housewares, small appliances, many craft items, yard goods starting at 75 cents a yard, cosmetics, attic treasures, jewelry, clothing starting at 50 cents, linens, lamps, candy making supplies and much much more. Proceeds go the help support our inner city missions.  120 North Jackson Street, Jackson.

Rummage Sale.  First United Methodist Church, 275 West Michigan Avenue, Jackson.  Hours are 9 AM to 3 PM.

Red Cross Blood Drive.  9 AM to 2:45 PM.  Northwest High School, 4200 Van Horn Road.  As influenza activity picks up, the American Red Cross is urging healthy donors of all blood types to give blood to ensure a strong blood supply for patients in need.

Theme Night Film Series.  The Shining.  7 PM, Michigan Theatre.  Theme Night Films is a series that was developed with patrons in mind. With a fun, new theme every month, the films will never be the same. With horror films, cult favorites, and holiday films, the last quarter of the year is sure to have something for everyone.  This is when being a member pays off! Members of The Michigan Theatre of Jackson receive a free medium combo with paid admission. Please show membership card for discount.

October Free Day at Kids “N” Stuff Children’s Museum.  Enjoy free admission for the whole family from 10 am to 7 pm on Thursday, October 25 at Kids ‘N’ Stuff Children’s Museum thanks to friends at Albion College’s Student Volunteer Bureau! Please note that only the north side of the museum will be available (the water table side/grocery store side) because they are getting repairs done and NEW CARPET on the south side of the museum. Bar Trivia at Grand River Brewery.  Gather a team of your friends and family at Grand River Brewery for a spirited night of FREE pub trivia! Jackson District Library is hosting, but don’t worry. Questions won’t be too hard.
