(March 4, 2022 2:40 PM) The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close Jackson, Mechanic, Van Buren, and Detroit streets in Downtown Jackson to allow crews to safely replace century-old railroad bridges over Jackson and Mechanic streets. The project also includes replacing the railroad grade crossing at Blackstone Street at a later date.  

The following streets will be closed (at the blocks that include the railroad tracks and bridges):

Jackson Street
Mechanic Street
Van Buren Street
Detroit Street

Streets will be closed and the project begins at 7 AM on Monday, March 14, 2022.  The scheduled completion date is November 15, 2022.

Local streets will be closed to traffic. Motorists should follow the posted detours.
