District Baseball

Division 1 at B.C. Lakeview

B.C. Lakeview 15, Jackson 0: The Vikings were no-hit in the district game at Battle Creek Lakeview. Jackson finished with season with a 5-16 overall record.

Division 2 at Northwest High School

Northwest 10, Western 8: Alex Thrun was the star for Northwest with three hits and five RBIs. Doug Putnam finished with two hits and two RBIs for the Mounties. Ben Parrott finished with three hits and Alex Trudell added two hits for Western (12-15).

District Final: Harper Creek 7, Northwest 5: Harper Creek scored twice in the bottom of the 10th inning to earn the win. Garrett Waldron finished with two hits and three RBIs and Gabe Christner added three hits and two RBIs for Northwest. The Mounties finish the season with a 13-16-1 record.

Division 3 at Stockbridge

Napoleon 2, Leslie 0: Grant Bradley struck out 14 batters on the mound for Napoleon in the district opener. The Pirates were limited to four hits in the game but pushed across two runs in the second inning for the win.

Stockbridge 7, Michigan Center 6: Stockbridge advanced to the district final with the victory.

District Final: Napoleon 10, Stockbridge 0: Tyler Nall provided good pitching on the mound for Napoleon giving up only one hit in five innings pitched. Christian Nykamp finished with two hits and three RBIs for Napoleon. The Pirates travel to Lumen Christi Wednesday at 5 p.m. for a regional semifinal game against the Titans.

Division 3 at Onsted

Onsted 4, Columbia Central 0: Conor Rentfrow and Chase Dukate had one hit each for the Golden Eagles. CCHS finished the season with a 23-10 overall record.

Division 3 at Olivet

Lumen Christi 17,  Homer 1: Lumen Christi Catholic High School finished with 12 hits in the contest. Kash Kalahar and Benny Gaston each finished with two hits and three RBIs for LCCHS.

Olivet 7, Springport 4: The Spartans scored four times in the bottom of the seventh inning, but it was not enough. Bo Lightner finished with two hits and one RBI for Springport (21-11 overall).

District Final: Lumen Christi 1, Olivet 0 (9 innings): Nathan Hinkley knocked in the winning run for the Titans with a single. Gabe King pitched all nine innings striking out six batters and scattering six hits. Lumen Christi is 26-10 and hosts Napoleon Wednesday at 5 p.m. in a regional semifinal.

District Softball

Division 1 at B.C. Lakeview

B.C. Lakeview 17, Jackson 0

Division 2 at Western High School

Eaton Rapids 5, Western 0: The Panthers were limited to three hits in the home district game. The Panthers finished the season with a 14-17 record.

Division 3 at Lumen Christi

Hanover-Horton 3,  Springport 1: Halle Swihart hit a home run and knocked in two runs for the Comets. Alexyn DuBois pitched all seven innings and struck out 16 batters. Morgan Shoemaker had one hit and an RBI for Springport (24-9).

Lumen Christi 12,  Olivet 1: The Titans exploded for seven runs in the sixth inning to close out the game. Lily Ganton finished with two hits and three RBIs and Mallory hit a home run and knocked in three runs for LCCHS. Bella Wrozek limited Olivet to two hits in the contest.

District Final: Hanover-Horton 3, Lumen Christi 1: Alexyn DuBois had three hits and knocked in one run and Halle Swihart tallied two hits and one RBI. DuBois pitched all seven innings striking out 10 batters. Lily Ganton had two hits for the Titans (26-10). Hanover-Horton advances to the Constantine regional to face Buchanan Saturday at 10 a.m.

Division 3 at Stockbridge

Leslie 4, Grass Lake 3: Adrianna Fogg knocked in the winning run for Leslie. Olivia Turner finished with two hits – including a home run – and two RBIs for Grass Lake (34-4).

Napoleon 9,  Stockbridge 3: Maggie Beer finished with three hits and Kiera Hoard knocked in three runs for the Pirates in the district win.

District Final: Leslie 14, Napoleon 1: Madi Breining finished with two of the six hits by Napoleon in the district final loss. Napoleon finishes the season with a 13-23 record.

Division 3 at Onsted

Clinton 6, Columbia Central 1: The Golden Eagles could only muster three hits in the district opener. CCHS finishes the season with a 17-13 overall record.

State Track and Field Finals

Division 1 at East Kentwood: Jackson High School finished 30th with nine points at East Kentwood in the D-1 state final. Ahmad Ameen of Jackson finished fourth in the 400-meter dash (47.92) and fifth in the 200-meter dash (22.30). Division 2 at Hamilton High School: Western High School tied for fifth place with 26 points and Northwest tied for 55th place with 1 point at the D-2 boys’ state finals. For complete results for the Division 2 state final, go to https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/meet/529788/results/all.

Division 3 at Kent City High School: Napoleon High School finished fifth in the boys event with 26 points, Springport was 29th (8 points), Michigan Center was 43rd (5), Hanover-Horton finished tied for 50th (3), and Lumen Christi scored 2 points. In the girls’ event, Lumen Christi was fourth (34), Hanover-Horton finished 18th (12), and Grass Lake placed 28th (6). Holden Van Poppel repeated as champion in the 110-meter hurdles and Lumen Christi won the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter relays in the girls division. Division 4 Baldwin MS in Hudsonville: Concord High School finished 18th (12 points) and East Jackson tied for 38th (5 points) at the D-4 boys’ state finals Saturday. The Trojans also tied for 36th place with five points in the girls’ competition. East Jackson finished fourth in the 3,200-meter relay (8:19) and Mekhi Wingfield of Concord was fourth in the long jump (20-10). Mariah Kerley of East Jackson finished fourth in the shot put with a personal best throw (35-8.5). State Tennis Finals

Western at D-3 State Final: The Panthers finished with nine points – the most in school history – finishing eighth overall in the D-3 state final. That is the highest finish by Western in the state tournament and the Panthers finished as the third best public school in Division 3 in the state. Scoring points for the Panthers were Kiona Carmody at No. 3 singles, Dru/Porter/Becca Brushaber at No. 1 doubles, Gabi Davis and Leslie Kinder at No. 2 doubles, and Anna Wilcox and Karly Foster at No. 3 doubles.

Lumen Christi at D-4 State Final: Lumen Christi Catholic High School finished tied for 17th at the D-4 final near Ann Arbor Friday and Saturday.
