The 20th annual All A-Merry-Can Christmas Show will be presented December 5th at 7pm and December 6th at 2pm at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson.  The annual Christmas variety show features dozens of performers in song, dance and skit and is produced by Jan Meyer, directed by Barb Palmer.  The two, along with performer Michael Cicirelli invited viewers to attend, bringing non-perishable food and personal hygiene items for admission.  The mission of the annual show is to end hunger in Jackson.  Other guests:  Amy Reimann, Director, Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History, with new pop-up shop "Ella Downtown" in the Dupuis building, opening Wednesday, November 26th;  Gary Siegrist, Naturalist, Dahlem;  Betsy Vickers, Corey Warren, Jacque Liebner and Karley Miller, presenting "Straight Talk", December 6th at Western High School.  The event is free, beginning at 4pm, and sponsored by WAI-IAM and A Healing Place;  Mollie Burchett, Sycamore Baptist Church;  Russ Jennings, McThirsty's;  Brian Surgener, Jackson Coffee Co.

As part of Shop Local Saturday, downtown merchants Wendy Clifton from A Frame Above and George Webster from P&T Cycling and Fitness shared some ideas for Christmas gift giving.  Christmas shoppers are invited to take advantage of specials, entertainment, refreshments and more as they shop in locally-owned stores this Saturday.  Other guests:  64th District State Representative Earl Poleski;  Steve LaFay, Here 4 You Hearing Center;  Coffee Talk with Robert Ernst, Jackson Coffee Company;  a visit to Paragon Charter Academy for Native American Day.

Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney Jerry Jarzynka is organizing a day-long summit to focus on the devastating problem of heroin use in our community and in particular, the connection and relationship between prescription drugs and heroin.  Mike Hirst, founder of "Andy's Angels" is one of the presenters, on the topic of Family Impact.   Four additional panel sessions will be offered.  The event is free and open to the public, and lunch will be provided.  The location:  Jackson College, Potter Center, Snyder Dining Commons, Friday December 5th from 8am to 4pm.    Guest registration at Jacksondrugsummit.org.  Other guests:  Andrew Sargeant, Jackson Recreation Department;  a visit to the Video Production classes at Northwest High School with teacher Marnie Hade;  Jackson Coffee Company's "Coffee Talk" with Robert Ernst;  Bella Notte owner Greg Walker with new Head Chef Megan Vilminot and Front of House Manager Brandon Stewart;  Ric Walton, Walton Insurance Group.
