Bill Jors and Derek Dobies File for Jackson Mayor
Incumbent Mayor Bill Jors will face a challenger in the November General Election. Council member Derek Dobies filed petitions to run for Mayor. The City Clerk certified both filing affidavits of Jors and Dobies. As the deadline for filing for office has passed, there are no other mayoral candidates and there will be no primary. Eight candidates have filed for council seats, including all three incumbents. Only First Ward incumbent council member Arlene Robinson faces no opposition. They are: First Ward: Arlene Robinson (Incumbent) Third Ward: Daniel Greer (Incumbent) Andrew J. Lindley Caleb Blondke Jeromy Alexander Fifth Ward Andrew Frounfelker (Incumbent) David W. Jones Susan Murdie There will be a primary election for both the Third and Fifth ward seats to determine the two who will head on to the General Election in November. Council member terms are four years. Wards 2, 4 and 6 council members terms end in 2019.
