Jackson’s Bushinski to be inducted into Albion’s Athletic Hall of Fame

Jackson resident Kevin Bushinski is one of 11 individuals slated for induction into the Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame in October. The induction dinner will be held Oct. 20 at Baldwin Hall with the 2017 class also being recognized before the Albion-Alma football game the following day.   A 1988 graduate, Bushinski was a three-time all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association performer and 1988 co-captain in track & field. He won league titles in the discus throw in 1987 and 1988. He also was an all-MIAA second team and football team’s coaches award pick in 1987.

Normal high for today is 82.  The record low is , set in 1989.  The record high is 95, set in 1964. A trace of precipitation yesterday.  Month to date rainfall:  0.92 inches. Events of June 30, July 1 and 2, 2017

UPDATE:  Jammin in Jackson and the Friday Film Festival have moved to the Michigan Theatre.  Music 6 to 8pm, movie to follow. “Jammin’ in Jackson”, tonight at Horace Blackman Park, downtown Jackson.  This is a free, family friendly, summer evening concert series. The series takes place in the heart of Downtown Jackson located at the new CP Federal City Square Stage.  Thank you to our event sponsors CP Federal Credit Union, Downtown Jackson and Michigan Theatre of Jackson for supporting this event year after year! This year the music begins at 6 pm and plays until 8 pm.  Tonight features original blues and international music by Harper and Midwest Kind.  Thank you to Tripp's Auto Shop, American 1 Credit Union, Integro LLC, Downtown Jackson, and Michigan Theatre of Jackson for making this event possible and worthwhile!  The Friday Film Festival begins tonight, presenting a family-friendly classic at CP Federal City Square space in Jackson's Horace Blackman Park (next to the Hayes Hotel). This event is free and open to the public.  Tonight’s movie is “Jumanji”.  Films will begin at dark (9:30/9:45 pm).
