The Michigan Theatre presents the Summer Film Series sponsored by the Kiwanis Clubs of Jackson and Brooklyn.  This week’s movie is “Boss Baby”.  Showtimes at 10am and 2pm.  Admission is $1.  Doors open one half hour before movie begins. The Jackson Recreation Department presents “Senior Splash”, at Nixon Waterpark, from 9am to 10:30am.  Warm therapeutic recreation for senior citizens with a zero depth entrance.  $2 per session. The Michigan Theatre presents June Film Course movie “The Big Lebowski” tonight.  The course and film discussion, led by Jackson College professor Dave DeBaker, begins at 6pm.  The cost for the class and film is $7, film only is $5.  The movie begins  at 7pm. NETMA is hosting an unscripted roundtable discussion on the best ways to stay organized while planning an event. Come prepared with your tips and tricks to share. The Green Market at Henry Ford Allegiance Health is open today from 9am to 2pm (and every Thursday) at the corner of East Michigan Avenue and Waterloo (across from the main hospital building).  Featuring local and organic produce and other products from a variety of farmers and vendors. The Jackson Recreation Department presents Senior Splash at Nixon Water Park, today from 9am to 10:30am.  Warm, therapeutic recreation for senior citizens.  Zero depth entrance.  Cost is $2 per session.  This will be held every Tuesday and Thursday morning during the summer. The 60th Annual Michigan Center Lions Carp Carnival begins today at 12N.  This 4 day event features carnival rides and midway, live music and tons of vendors.  This years carp fishing tournament has a $1,000 tagged fish released.  The Carp Carnival is held in Leoni Township Park on Michigan Center Lake.  The Kiwanis  of Brooklyn and Jackson present Summer Kids Film Series at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson. Welcome to summer!  The Jackson County Republican Party is hosting the 2017 Lincoln Day Luncheon at Commonwealth Commerce Center, City View Room (5th floor) from 11:30am to 1:30pm.  Special guest speaker is Retired Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert Young Jr.  Luncheon and program is $40. The City of Jackson Nixon Water Park opens for the season today.  Monday thru Thursday, open swim sessions are 11am to 3pm ($4), 2:15 to 5:15pm ($4) and 5:30 to 7pm ($2).  Friday and Saturday open swim sessions are 11am to 2pm and 2:15 to 5:15pm ($4). The City of Jackson Nixon Skate Park opens today, hours are 11am to 7pm.  Free entry, $1 to rent helmet and pads. The Jackson Recreation Department presents the Corey Pryor Track & Field Camp.  The camp is for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Attend this awesome program to get a jump start on the sport of track and field. Take part in such events as 200m, 400m, long-jump and team relays. Not only will you be working on the fundamentals of track and field, you will participate in track and field meets.   June 19th through July 19th (NO CLASSES WEEK OF JULY 3RD)  Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm.  The camp is held at Withington Stadium, the fee is $20 attend/live in the JPS District,  $30 outside of JPS District.
