Partly Sunny with a Chance of a Shower

Chances for a few showers and storms will occur today through Tuesday as a weak low pressure system approaches and moves through the region. Tuesday night looks to be dry as the front pushes south of the state. Chances for showers and storms increase mid week, especially Wednesday night into Thursday as a stronger low works through the area. Quiet Weather Conditions

Quiet weather conditions are forecast today due to high pressure situated over the Great Lakes region. An increase of high clouds will be noted this afternoon with high temperatures up around 80 degrees. A few light showers are possible Monday afternoon although most areas look to stay dry. Highs will be near 80 once again on Monday. Another mainly dry day is forecast on Tuesday with a developing warm front off to our southwest. Highs on Tuesday will push into the lower 80s. Partly Sunny with an Isolated Shower or Two

An isolated shower or two are expected today as a cool airmass flows over the warmer Great Lakes. Most areas will remain dry however. High pressure will build in for Sunday and Monday with partly cloudy skies expected. Highs today will top out in the 70s, returning to around 80 degrees for Sunday and Monday. Scattered Showers

Scattered showers and storms will remain possible today across Southwest Lower Michigan along and ahead of a cold front. The front should press east of the area during the afternoon hours ending the threat of rain towards Lansing and Jackson towards early evening. Dry weather is then expected over the weekend as high pressure gradually works in from the west. Highs will be a bit cooler than normal for this time of year with 70s expected for highs today, Saturday and Sunday. Today:  Partly sunny with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. A cold front will approach the area from the west today and move through the region tonight and Friday. Scattered showers and storms are expected, especially tonight into Friday morning. Cloudy with Scattered Showers

A weak cold front will pass through the area today from south to north with an area of showers and possibly a few afternoon thunderstorms. Behind that front high pressure moves over the area and only slowly moves eastward, so it will impact our weather into Thursday. Beyond that system tries to develop over the central plains and moves into the Great Lakes by Friday. This will bring showers and thunderstorms back into the area. Cloudy with Scattered Showers

Expect considerable cloudiness today with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. These will be mostly this afternoon into the early evening as an area associated with a surface trough and upper air disturbance move through the area. A weak but broad surface highs follows the trough and will be over our area into mid week, moving only slowly to the east.   Temperatures will be below normal today into Tuesday then there will be a slow moderating trend. Summer Weather Returns

The weather system that brought early fall like weather to Jackson on Friday has moved out of the way that will allow a high high pressure system to pass south of this area today. Even so, there should be considerable sunshine with afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. A wave on the front to our south will pass south of the area Sunday into Monday. This will bring the risk of showers Sunday into Monday but most locations will see little if any rainfall even so. Another large surface high moves in for Tuesday through Wednesday for another period of sunshine and near normal temperatures. Today:  A 30 percent chance of showers after 3pm.
