
(June 2, 2020 8:34 AM) The Jackson County Fair Board announced this morning the decision to postpone its 2020 fair to next year, August 8-14, 2021.
In an announcement, the Fair Board said, “In unprecedented times and with heavy hearts that the Jackson County Fair Board has made the difficult decision to postpone its 2020 fair.”
“The safety and health of the community, guests, volunteers and staff are of the greatest importance to the Jackson County Fair. With this priority in mind together with the uncertainty that it will be safe to gather and celebrate by mid-August, the decision to postpone has been made.” the announcement said.
The Jackson County Fair announced that all of its 2020 performers, Toby Keith, MercyMe, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, have all committed to the Jackson County Fair in 2021.
Next year’s line-up will be:
Sunday, August 8th, 2021 – TOBY KEITH
Monday, August 9th, 2021 – MERCYME
Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 – LYNYRD SKYNYRD
For those who purchased tickets and wish to return their tickets, the Fair is offering a thirty (30) day window to do so in order to receive a refund.
The final day to receive a refund for any tickets purchased in 2020 will be on Thursday, July 2nd. Tickets can be refunded by going online to www.etix.com or by calling 1-800-514-3849.
Tickets purchased for the 2020 Jackson County Fair will be honored for the rescheduled 2021 dates noted above.
The fair is working closely with MSU Extension to provide a virtual project showcase opportunity to 4-H and FFA youth exhibitors. Details will be provided in the near future.
2020 was planned to include two big celebrations as part of the fair: the Grand Opening of the new Keeley Park and the 100th Anniversary of the Grandstand. Both celebrations will be “even bigger in 2021” according the the fair board.
