Jackson County Cumulative Report: 30,351 COVID-19 Positive Cases and 450 Deaths

(January 6, 2022 12:00 PM)  The Jackson County Health Department released the COVID-19 positive numbers for Jackson County.  As of 12:00 PM today, there are 30,351 positive cases (cumulative), and 450 deaths (cumulative)*.   There are 303 new cases and 2 new deaths since yesterday’s report. As of January 3, there are 46 persons at Henry Ford Allegiance Health being treated as inpatients for COVID-19.  The Jackson County Health Department has announced a change in reporting effective Oct. 6, 2021.  Cases defined as probable will be reported in cumulative case and death counts.  As additional methods of testing besides the PCR test have become more common, the amount of cases classified as probable has increased and are included to provide a more accurate picture of disease in our community.  Cumulative recovered, as of January 6:  26,618** The cumulative numbers posted on Mondays include the data from Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Recovered numbers are being posted as received.  *These numbers do not reflect any cases or deaths identified through Michigan Department of Corrections.  Their numbers are listed under a separate category and reported by the state at Michigan Statistics. Henry Ford Allegiance Health Donates $25,000 to Jackson District Library to Support Bookmobile

(January 6, 2022 11:39 AM) Henry Ford Allegiance Health officials announced a $25,000 contribution to the Jackson District Library to support its bookmobile. "A special thank you is in order for Henry Ford Allegiance Health's support of the library and our new bookmobile," JDL Director Sara Tackett said. "As we begin to get the service up and running, we look forward to serving all ages and remote parts of the Jackson County community with our mobile library." JDL officials organized a ribbon cutting event for the new bookmobile in late October, and are now in the process of scheduling periodic stops throughout Jackson County. Once a more permanent schedule is solidified, the calendar will be included on the library website (www.myjdl.com) and the JDL Bookmobile social media pages. "The Jackson District Library plays an essential role in our community by providing important learning opportunities for children and adults," said Paula Autry, President and CEO of Henry Ford Allegiance Health.
