Classic comedy and on-stage antics are in store when the Franke Center for the Arts offers fans of Marilyn Monroe a "hot date" with the star. The classic cult comedy "Some Like it Hot" will be screened as part of the center's annual gala fund-raiser April 9. For years, the movie has held the No. 1 position on the American Film Institute's list of the funniest American movies ever made. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for early-bird patrons to obtain concessions and contest tickets. The program will begin at 7 p.m. Monroe stars in the madcap story about two men - played by Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis - who go on the run from murderous gangsters during the Prohibition era, and end up masquerading as women in an all-girl jazz band. "The movie was made in 1959 and it's still the ultimate 'men in drag' comedy," said Franke Center Executive Director Patty Williams. "It was considered so outrageously sexy that it was even banned in Kansas - although I think they've gotten over that by now." The Fourth Wall Presents Godspell at The Michigan Theatre, Friday March 11th at 8pm and Sunday, March 13th at 2pm.  Following a week off, the show returns on Friday and Saturday, March 25th and 26th at 8pm.  The musical features the art of Jackson's Dominic Pangborn.  This musical cast includes Alyse Edinger, Anna Commet, Anthony Reinker, Kelly Edinger, Larry Sumner Jr., Lauren Turson, LaVon Love, Gary Minix, Tim Edinger and Trevor VanBuren.  Directed by Marjy Minix and Musical Director is Brian Ketner.  Tickets are $13 and available at the Michigan Theatre box office.  A group rate of $10 is available for groups of 6 or more.

The Affinity Series at the Wax will be welcoming American Aquarium back to play another concert at The Wax. Those who caught the show in February of 2015 know what a special night of music it was.  You can watch a video for the title-track of the bands latest album Wolves here and then head over to our website to pick up your tickets which are $18 in advance or $20 at the door. Doors for the concert will open at 7:30 and music will begin at 8:00. Ann Arbor's Ed Dupas opens the show.  Ed released his debut album, A Good American Life in 2015 and the collection of strong, thoughtful songs ended up on a number of critics "Best of 2015" lists. Get to the show early to catch Ed...his songs will stick with you and his performance is one you won't want to miss.
