Albion-Homer United Way Kicks Off with Tailgate

Kicking off the Albion-Homer United Way's 2015-16 campaign season, we are pleased to announce that Mike Culliver, Vice President of the Board of Directors, is COOKIN'! Join Mike and the other members of the Albion-Homer United Way Board on Saturday, October 10th at the Albion Farmer's Market, 211 Marketplace, for barbecue -- ala Mike! This is a fundraiser "Tailgate" party wherein you buy a scrumptuous lunch, hang out and talk to old friends, and the Albion-Homer United Way raises funds which go back into our community in support of area non-profit social service agencies. Lunch Options: Rib tips $6 3 Ribs, baked beans, sliced bread, chips, and a drink $9 Pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, chips and a dink $9 Come on down to the Albion Farmer's Market on Saturday October 10th, shop the market and then buy lunch from the Albion-Homer United Way. Ribbon Cutting at Jackson Candy and Fudge Factory

The new ‘old fashioned’ Jackson Candy and Fudge Factory, 1522 E. Michigan Ave., Jackson invites you to celebrate their opening with a Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 4:00 pm with the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.  Ribbon Cutting guests can sign up to be entered into a drawing for a ó pound box of our Cherry Cheesecake featured fudge! Be sure to enter your name into the drawing between 3:30-4:30 pm. The drawing is at 4:30 pm. Your chances of winning are great and the fudge will just melt in your mouth. The Jackson Candy and Fudge Factory appreciates the immense response from the Jackson community in welcoming this new old fashioned candy store experience to town on September 22, 2015. They are located on the corner of E. Michigan Ave and Elm St. In the first week alone, 2,800 customers visited and savored 70 slabs worth of fudge! Thank you Jackson! Take a Swing for Charity

  Walton Insurance Group is hosting a community charity event on Oct 14th from 11:30am to 4pm. We are bringing in a golf simulator and asking folks to Take a Swing for Charity. We will start serving Hot Dogs & Chips at 11:30am for a nominal donation. Then at Noon you can Take a Swing! $2 a swing or 3 swings for $5. Spring Arbor Basketball tips off season with Cougar Madness

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University will announce the coming of the 2015-16 basketball season on Friday, Oct. 2 with Cougar Madness. The event will take place inside the SAU Fieldhouse with doors opening at 9:30 p.m.   Cougar Madness is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. with the introductions of the men's and women's teams. The players will display their skills throughout the night in several contests, highlighted by a 3-point shootout and slam dunk competition. The event will also feature a number of prizes, games and giveaways for fans, including a free t-shirt to the first 100 in attendance.   We encourage everyone to come out and support Cougar Athletics, as well as the basketball programs as they prepare to tip-off the 2015-16 season!

Free Entertainment at the TCA September 24th

Photo:  Members of the TCA Big Band at a recent performance at the I-75 Michigan Welcome Center Tecumseh, Michigan – Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) is preparing to raise the curtain on this year’s season featuring comedy, electroluminescent puppetry, live music and so much more! Patrons, business sponsors and the general public are invited to the TCA on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 pm for a sneak peak at this year’s line-up. The event includes appetizers, a cash bar, live performances by the Jimmy Rice Group, TCA Big Band Sax Quartet and more. Those in attendance will have a chance to win a selection of great prizes including a TCA gift basket and sets of complimentary tickets to each of our National Touring shows including the comedian Godfrey, Lightwire Theater, Humming House and The Verve Pipe.
