Cooler and mainly dry weather can be expected through midweek as Canadian high pressure builds south into the western Great Lakes Region. Breezy conditions can be expected today and Tuesday due to a low pressure system over the eastern Great Lakes. Temperatures will moderate a bit toward the end of the week. Showers Ending, Becoming Partly Sunny

Decreasing cloudiness will occur today after scattered showers and thunderstorms end later this morning. It will be quite warm with highs in the mid 80s inland from Lake Michigan. A cold front will move south through the state tonight and usher in a much cooler air mass for Monday and Tuesday. Today: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2pm. Summerlike Weekend

A very summerlike weekend is in store with highs in the 80s. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible but the majority of the weekend will be dry. Cooler weather is anticipated for the first part of next week.  Low pressure passing by to our north will push a warm  front through the area tonight, then will drag a cold front south through the state on Sunday night. Staying Dry

Mainly dry weather is expected from today through Friday across the area. An isolated shower is possible this afternoon, but most areas will remain dry. High pressure will be in control of our weather tonight into Thursday night and will be responsible for the dry conditions. Friday a warm front will be developing to our southwest with better chances for showers and storms as we head into Saturday. Cooler Temperatures and More Clouds

We will see more in the way of cloud cover today and Wednesday as we remain under the influence of an upper low in the northern Great Lakes. It will be cooler with highs mainly in the 60s today and Wednesday as well. A few showers and possibly an isolated thunderstorms can be expected this afternoon and evening. A dry period is expected from Wednesday evening into Thursday evening with high pressure located nearby. Showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast for Thursday night into Friday with a warm front lifting into the area. High temperatures warm back into the 70s for the end of the work week. We will see another day with highs in the 70s on Memorial Day with some scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Coverage on the precipitation will not be widespread. An upper low located over the northern Great Lakes will bring a fair amount of cloud cover for Tuesday into Wednesday with isolated to scattered showers at times both days. An area of low pressure will move from Central Illinois tonight through southern portions of the Lower Peninsula on Sunday. Today and Tonight will be fairly dry with increasing chances for precipitation on Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will accompany the passage of the low on Sunday. Some of the storms could be on the strong side on Sunday. Rain showers remain in the forecast for Memorial Day as an upper low moves toward the region.
