County National Bank Branch Lobbies Reopen Today
(July 20, 2020 10:32 AM) County National Bank has announced its safe and secure reopening as of today. In an announcement, CNB said several protective measures are in place at all of their locations. The bank is continuing their focus on the health and safety of their staff, customers, and the communities they serve in instituting these measures: Hand sanitizer is available in all lobbies. Signage is in place to encourage social distancing. Germ guards have been installed in all lobbies. High-touch areas are disinfected regularly. Staff members will be wearing masks when unable to maintain proper distance. According to the latest government mandate, face coverings are required for entry to our branch locations. Exceptions will be made for children younger than five years old and those who cannot medically tolerate a face covering. You may be asked to temporarily remove your mask for security and identification purposes. Staff members are required to complete a daily self-screening checklist prior to arriving at the branch. MDOC: 1,379 Confirmed Positive Cases at Jackson Facilities, 158 Confirmed Positive Jackson Staff
(July 20, 2020 6:31 AM) The Michigan Department of Corrections is reporting as of 2:45 PM Sunday, July 19, there are 3,805 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases at facilities throughout the state. Of that statewide total, 1,379 of the confirmed positive cases are at Jackson facilities. In Jackson, there are 505 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases at Parnall Correctional Facility, 85 at Charles E. Egeler Reception and Guidance Center, 48 at Duane Waters Health Center and 741 at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility. Among staff, there are a total of 393 COVID-19 positive cases statewide. In Jackson, there are 74 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases among employees at Parnall Correctional Facility, 3 at Cooper Street Correctional Facility, 37 at Charles E. Egeler Reception and Guidance Center, 41 at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility and 3 at Jackson Regional Warehouse. There have been a total of 68 deaths (statewide) of prisoners who had tested positive for COVID-19, 22 of those deaths were among prisoners at Jackson facilities. The most recent death, reported on June 2, was of a prisoner who had originally been housed at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility. WSU Golfer Sets Record at Jackson County Golf Open

By Jeff Steers JTV Sports (July 19, 2020 5:44 PM) A yardage book golfer Grant Haefner picked up at the pro shop at Cascades Golf Course proved to be very valuable. The Wayne State University golfer shot his second consecutive under par round to win the Jackson County Open at Cascades on Sunday. He finished with rounds of 67 and 69, with a two-day total of 136. The Jackson Golf Committee record book lists 137 as the previous low, although that total only dates back to 1982. The tournament has been played in Jackson County since 1932. Haefner got into the tournament at the urging of soon-to-be college teammate Conor Spencer of Jackson. The tournament is open to all golfers, no matter their residence. Mike Brockie finished second with a two-day total of 139, Mark Kurzynowski was third at 141, Spencer was fourth at 142, and Riley Hestwood and Bret Valkuchak tied for fifth at 143. Napoleon Graduates 79 Students in Virtual Ceremony

By Jeff Steers JTV News (July 19, 2020 1:53 PM) It may not have been the picturesque graduation that Napoleon High School seniors are used to, but 79 were scheduled to walk across the stage on Sunday, July 19, at NHS. The COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench into the plans for a graduation on May 31. Students walked across a stage in the auditorium on Sunday as friends and family members looked on and took photos. The district – like most others – debated the graduation question since school was canceled for good in early April. A representative graduation committee recently came up with the decision to hold a 1) outdoor graduation – if limitations allow; 2) indoor graduation if limitations allow; or 3) a virtual graduation. When limitations on the number of attendees, the committee agreed to a virtual graduation. “We want to thank our representative graduation committee parents and students consisting of Susan Sayles, Lisa Bradley, Mike Boobyer, Elizabeth Phelps, Izzy Ford, and Austin Smith, for participating in the tough decision making,”…
